Blogs are indexed fast by search engines. Opinions about the reasons why vary at the moment but I compare blogs with websites and blog posts with webpages.
It does not cost anything to own and host blogs which is another reason for their popularity. The most extensively used blogging service is Blogger which is provided by Google. By using Blogger you can own and host blogs without any cost. If you do have your own website you can use the same hosting service to host your blogs. In case your hosting service provides you with cPanel and Fantastic you can use WordPress blogs. You can get blogs with literally hundreds of designs and templates to choose from.
But I always assumed that most bloggers would be like me and have some sort of comment approval policy in place. But then I forget, there are a lot of people running Look at my pictures for personal stuff and they simply don’t understand the whole spamming thing. So blog spammers take advantage of the ignorance of these bloggers and blast them with junk comments. And if their blogging software doesn’t use the nofollow tag in links then they just got themselves a link that some search engines (coughMSNcoughYahoo!cough) would record as valuable.
In 1997 the term weblog became known and in 1999 the term blog was created. In 1999 there were only 100 web diaries and in 2005 there was a remarkable 50,000,000 started; long way from were they started, don’t you think?
It does take time to set up a blog and it takes effort. It takes time to list the blog in the blog directories. The trick is, as with any WebSite to see if you can get some important “niche” and “original” information into your blog. That will let it stand out to the search engines. Search engines today are putting a great deal of emphasis on “original content”, as can be seen just from the many article submission sites that have become much more stringent in their article acceptance process. Non-original content does no one any good. So put “original” content into your web Blog.
Now imagine that other people (bloggers) start jumping in the pool, splashing around like idiots and start upsetting all the other people. And, these bloggers have absolutely nothing in common with the rest of us. In fact, some of these bloggers promote “unsavory” and even immoral practices and products! They have low or no page rank, traffic from God only knows where, and pretty soon…
