Is work and life balance supposed to be in the same sentence? For many it doesn’t seem so. However, for those people who have learned how to create balance, it makes perfect sense. Harmony between work and life is a precarious balancing act. Without effective time management and making an effort to prioritize and learning when to say no, you will be always walking a tightrope between the two significant aspects of your life.

Make a commitment that you will live your best life. Accept that you have to make it happen – not your partner, your husband, your family. It’s not your mother’s responsibility! Others can help and guide you, but it is your job to walk this path. This also means that you workout lifestyle STOP WAITING!

Commitment is your fuel to completing the program. A commitment is you saying to yourself that you have decided to take on the challenge and there is no turning back. Staying on track with the Insanity workout schedule is nothing less than a mental resolution to staying on track in the exercise and meal plans, for a period of 60 days. No excuses.

For example, when you’re working out, one day everything suddenly feels light and you’re just in there killing it and in the zone and all the sudden you hit a PR (personal record in a 1 rep max test) without expecting it. Another example, when you are trying to hit a PR, the night before or even a week before, you’re so pumped and spend so much energy psyching yourself up for it that often times you set yourself up for failure or it’ll work against you. It’s just too much energy being wasted on thinking about it as opposed to just being in the moment and fully amerced in that workout and just doing it.

Look for an exercise routine that fits your lifestyle and personality to ensure you will do it. This means a workout that you like, keeps you interested and one that you have all the equipment to perform the workout as instructed. If you hate riding an exercise bike… don’t pick a program that focuses on biking!
